The Dunelm Cow and Cathedral

The Dunelm Cow on the river banks with Durham Cathedral in the background. The original structure where the Cathedral is now was the burial place of St Cuthbert. On route from Lindisfarne with Cuthbert’s lead coffin the monks had a spiritual message saying he should be laid to rest where they found the Dumelm Cow. His remains are still there inside the Cathedral. Hence the reason for capturing the sculpture and the structure together.
